We are delighted to announce that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) has purchased Pol-Ed educational resources. The resources are now available completely free of charge to all schools and organisations working with children and young people across the Humber region.

Created by West Yorkshire Police and subject matter experts, Pol-Ed is an educational programme that teaches young people about risks, citizenship and the law.

Jonathan Evison, Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside and Chair of the Humber VPP, said: “Pol-Ed gives teachers and youth workers the tools to help young people make positive, informed choices by deepening their understanding of the law and building resilience.

"This work is funded through proceeds taken from criminal activity, turning harm into something that directly benefits our communities. It’s an investment that helps young people across the Humber region to thrive.”

Pol-Ed provides the following resources:

  • Youth inputs – For delivery by local authority colleagues and other organisations working with children and young people
  • School inputs – For delivery by teachers covering early years to Key Stage 5 (post-16)
  • Police inputs – For delivery by dedicated Humberside Police Safer Schools officers

On the Pol-Ed website, school contacts should click the 'For Schools' header.

Youth and community organisations should click the 'For Your Community' header. To access Pol-Ed, community organisations will need to register and be approved by their local authority. Find out how to register community organisations with by reading their handy guide - see green button below.

The Humber VPP is working closely with our OPCC colleagues to promote the resources as widely as possible. Please register your organisation today, and feel free to share with other colleagues who may be interested.
