Quick Summary

The Get Inspired project offers multi-sport sessions to help to engage young people in physical activity including boxing, rugby league and football to increase sport participation to reduce youth crime rates and instances of anti-social behaviour, and to improve their health, education and future prospects.

Proposed participants are aged between 10yrs and 19yrs with the majority considered likely to be at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training).

The project will be delivered in some of the most deprived areas within the Humber region, ranked within the top 10-20% of the most deprived LSOA's nationally. The demographics of our proposed participants are predominantly from low-income households, in local authority housing, with a high percentage coming from families with 'complex' needs. The resulting prevalence of inter-generational worklessness, anti-social behaviour, driven by a combination of low-achievement and an unsupportive family environment, has resulted in high levels of deprivation and below average educational achievement.

The five identified locations are: Annandale Road (Marfleet), Eastmount Rec Centre (Longhill), Preston Road (Marfleet), Hull Road (Withernsea), South Beach (Bridlington)
