The continued antisocial and criminal use of motorcycles by small numbers of young people across North Lincolnshire has been identified through NLCs proactive partnership scanning and analysis work. Illegal motorcycle use enables wider offending activities including violence, the supply of controlled drugs, and theft offences.
The motorbikes project is provided to a targeted cohort identified locally through Operation Yellowfin, TTCG, ASB Panel and MACE.
The project offers those taking part an opportunity to participate in positive activity relating to motorbikes including bike mechanics and restoration. The project also teaches participants how to ride safely and includes other support and direct interventions to reduce the risk of further offending.
The sessions are provided weekly in term time and for three weeks in the summer holidays.
