Helping parents, carers and professionals have conversations with young people about knife crime and violence.

Keeping young people safe is at the heart of our work. That’s why we’ve commissioned a series of expert-led resources from the Ben Kinsella Trust to help families and professionals understand and prevent knife crime.

The Ben Kinsella Trust is a charity that tackles knife crime through education and campaigning. Their namesake, Ben, was just 16 years old when he was stabbed to death in a horrific act of senseless violence in 2008. Since his murder, his family have tirelessly championed for change.

Please share these resources with any parent networks, organisations or individuals who may find them of interest.

Digital Guide for Parents and Carers

Sometimes, parenting can be overwhelming. News stories and social media can influence how safe we feel our children are and the risks they may face in today’s climate. It can be extremely worrying to think your child may be affected by knife crime and violence.

The below guide from the Ben Kinsella Trust provides useful information on keeping young people safe and gives parents and carers practical skills, including tips on how to have supportive conversations about the risks of carrying a knife. It also contains relevant resources and links to further help and support.
