This week saw Lord Sharpe of Epsom oversee one of the Hull FC Community Foundation’s Play to Potential sessions, which has received funding from Humber Violence Prevention Partnership since October 2022.

Lord Sharpe was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Home Office in September 2022 and took the opportunity to oversee a session on Tuesday at St Mary’s College in Hull.

This week’s session saw sixteen young people engage with a wheelchair rugby session, which Lord Sharpe soon got involved with by joining in with the games.

Hull FC's Play to Potential programme engages young people (ages 14-17) in activities that instil the skills, confidence, and knowledge to avoid risk taking behaviours.

The project adopts a public health approach towards reducing youth led crime, implementing a collaborative, data led approach towards engaging young people at high risk of engaging in crime in West Hull.
