Tigers Trust
Along with their award-winning Targeted Youth Engagement Programme, Tigers Trust offer mentoring, BTEC sports courses and school engagement.
They explained how football is a universal language and can break down barriers for young people living with disabilities and from all backgrounds. It was great to hear how our organisation has helped support the team with our Navigators programme, Young Futures Panels and data insights.
Box Smart
‘Box Smart’ is a collaborative programme supported by local schools and the Orchard Park Neighbourhood Policing Team. It aims to reduce youth anti-social behaviour on the Orchard Park estate.
Each session has a personal development focus that seeks to improve wellbeing, encourage skills development and educate on the dangers of crime. This includes building participants’ resilience, confidence, communication and problem solving. The sessions also cover important topics like substance misuse, gangs and relationships.
Jonathan and Richard visited the Wellbeing Hub to meet the Box Smart leads. They learnt how boxing is becoming more popular with girls and young women and how the team is building strong links with other youth providers.
Hull FC Foundation
Hull FC Foundation’s ‘Play 2 Potential’ project gives young people the chance to meet new friends, try different activities and build fitness levels through the power of sport. The programme includes personal development activities so young people can gain useful life skills and volunteering experience.
This project is part of Hull FC Foundation’s ‘Hub in Your Community’ programme, which runs sessions in Hull and the East Riding each night of the week.
