On Tuesday 14th of November, the North Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership will launch the Safer Nights scheme at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe (9am-1pm).

The event will be a valuable opportunity for anyone working in the night time economy sector to share information and advice.

This event is open to all those working in Scunthorpe town centre’s night time economy sector, including pubs and clubs, bar and door staff, takeaways, taxis, other licensed premises and partner agencies.

This event will feature: 

  • The opportunity for businesses to sign up to the Licensing Security and Vulnerability Initiative
  • Bleed kits will be available, with training on how to use them to stop life-threatening bleeding until paramedics arrive
  • Information from DrinkSafe, an anti-spiking organisation
  • Government campaigns including Enough and Ask For Angela
  • The Bystander Approach, which encourages people to take action when someone else is at risk
  • CCTV and premier of the SOS System Video
  • The One Punch campaign, which raises awareness that even a single punch can kill

There will be representatives from the North Lincolnshire Council and Humberside Police, as well as Night Time Economy Specialist Elizabeth Murphy.
