A new opportunity to help identify young people at risk of getting involved in violence.

This role is hosted by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Humberside on behalf of the Humber Violence Prevention Partnership (VPP), a Home Office-funded Violence Reduction Unit (VRU).

Job Summary

Are you passionate about turning data into insight? Join the Humber VPP as an Apprentice Data Analyst and support multi-agency efforts to understand, prevent and respond to violence across the local area.

Job title: Apprentice Data Analyst (Level 3)
Salary: £14,568
Contract: Fixed term for 18 months with the potential for extension
Location: The Lawns, Cottingham
Closing date: 12 noon on Wednesday 10 September, with interviews held on Wednesday 24 September

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will work alongside experienced analysts and partner agencies to collect, clean and analyse data from a range of sources.

You will be supporting the implementation of a new multi-agency process to identify young people at risk of getting involved in violence and make sure they receive appropriate support.

As part of your work, you will also help us to better understand how successful different interventions are in keeping people safe, and support team members working on a variety of projects, helping you to put the skills you learn into practice.

Over the course of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain real-world experience while achieving a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification. You will have opportunities to experiment, learn new skills and try out different approaches, all contributing to our work to prevent young people from being affected by violence.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate work.

You don’t need to have existing data analyst skills, as you will learn these as part of your apprenticeship. However, you do need to be educated to A-Level or equivalent, including at least one STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths), and have good GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

While it would be great to have someone who knows who we are, what we do and who we work with, it isn’t our greatest requirement. We want the right person. We can easily give you the context of our working environment. We need the right skillset and values. That is our priority.

We do need someone to be professionally astute, an ambassador for the Humber VPP in working with a broad range of stakeholders, confident in their abilities, and able to understand and challenge complex information.

About our Organisation

The OPCC has a strong focus on employing people that best fit with the ethos and culture of our team and are looking for someone who will embrace our values of Ambition, Compassion, Enabling, and Integrity and Trust.
